On the 12th May 2012, local family-run business, United Grab Hire held a Charity Golf Day and Ball in aid of Cancer Research UK. Nearly 200 people attended the event that was held at the Surrey National Golf Club in Chaldon. Luckily the sun was shining and led to a glorious day for the golfers, with the rest of the guests arriving for the ball later in the evening.

Rosie Howland, Event Organiser said: “We have had an amazing turnout, with all the proceeds going to such a good cause, the day exceeded all expectations. Everyone was in high spirits and in a very generous mood for the raffle and auction, with most of the items being kindly donated by companies in the surrounding areas. I would like to thank everyone that came and supported this event. Without their help, we would not have been able to raise an amazing £12,056.00 for Cancer Research. We all know someone close to our hearts that has gone through such an awful disease. We just wanted to say thank you for the amazing things the Cancer Research Team are doing towards helping to find a cure in the future.”
