Duke of Edinburgh Awards for Dunottar School

At the area award ceremony for the Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme held on Friday, 16th March, 13 girls from Dunottar School in Reigate were awarded certificates in recognition of their hard work towards the award. A number of the girls were able to be present at the ceremony to collect their certificate in person from the Mayor of Reigate and Banstead at the ceremony.

The Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme requires participants to undertake volunteering, a physical and a skill section plus an expedition normally run through the school. At Gold level there is also a requirement for a five day residential activity. It is well received by universities and employers and is open to girls from the age of 14 upwards.

Congratulations to the following Dunottar girls who achieved an award:

Bronze award: Becky Cheall, Abbie Marcroft, Rebecca Munro, Sophie Powell-Cook, Gemma Sands, Anna Sheridan and Ellen Teale.

Silver Award: Lucy Cova, Sophie Heyward-Jones and Hammi McArdle.

Gold Award: Fenella Murtagh, Natasha Leuchter and Sophie Small.
