On Tuesday 10th and Wednesday 11th July Year Six pupils at St. John’s C of E Primary School in Caterham entertained audiences with their performance of ‘Pirates of the Curry Bean’. The play was a comedic interpretation by Craig Hawes of the film Pirates of the Caribbean with many jokes, making it a very funny and enjoyable play.

All the children in the year group were involved wearing very creative and colourful pirate, sailor and animal costumes.

The performances were a great success, with so many of the children’s families and friends coming along to watch the show that the audiences were full on both nights.

Liz Wombwell, Headteacher at St. John’s said: “The children and staff have put a great deal of work into this production. The children did brilliantly and I haven’t laughed so much in ages; the old jokes are always the best!”

The play was directed by the Year Six team and the costumes and set were made by other members of staff.
