Hillcroft Primary School appoints a new Headteacher and Deputy Head to lead the Hillcroft team and announce their ambitious plans for the new school term. Mrs Stephanie Scutter, who has been Deputy Head at Hillcroft Primary School in Caterham-on-the-Hill since 2002, has started her new role as Headteacher this term. Boasting a diverse background in marketing, business and buying, Stephanie became interested in a teaching career through being a parent helper at her children's school. After gaining her Post-Graduate Certificate in Education, Stephanie took up her first senior role as Maths leader at Lingfield Primary School before joining the Hillcroft team in 2002. Stephanie and the newly appointed Deputy Head, Esther Brook, have big plans to improve the school for the pupils at Hillcroft through fundraising and educational initiatives. October is already proving a busy month with a fashion show taking place at the school, witnessing their very own Headteacher taking to the Catwalk! In addition, the Young Shakespeare Company has been organised to bring their interactive performance of Macbeth to Years 4, 5 and 6 as well as a bedtime story session, linked with 'Book Week' for pupils to enjoy a bedtime story dressed in their pyjamas. Commenting on her new role, Stephanie said: "After spending eight happy years at Hillcroft, my latest role as Headteacher is an extension of how I can continue improving the learning environment for the pupils. With Esther on board as Deputy Head, I feel confident that we can make a real impact and raise vital funds for the school to help us improve the facilities and encourage more engagement with our parents. I am really looking forward to playing more of a part in bringing parents and local residents together in the community and putting Hillcroft firmly on the map".
