Marital Status: Married for 39 years to Ronald.
Children: Three sons and one grand-daughter.
Cars: An Audi Estate. Pets: Two spaniels - Baldrick and Lord Percy (Blackadder fan).
Childhood hero: David Livingstone (what a story – should be made into a TV series).
Pastimes: I love going to the ballet when I can.
Likes: Caterham, Sweet Peas, chocolate.
Dislikes: The Rose and Young situation; discrimination; snobbery; unkindness and chewing/bubble gum.
Favourite Films: ‘Some Like It Hot’; ‘Out of Africa’; ‘The English Patient’ and ‘Death in Venice’.
Favourite Food & Drink: Thai food and a glass of Sancerre or a cup of tea.
Favourite song of all time: Percy Sledge ‘When a Man Loves a Woman’.
Favourite books: ‘Pride and Prejudice’; ‘The No. 1 Ladies’ Detective Agency’; ‘Pillars of the Earth’ and ‘Wolf Hall’.
Favourite holiday destination: Anywhere warm and sunny at the moment! The Maldives were heaven on Earth.

Biggest influence on your life: My parents – both good, kind and very wise people.
Proudest moment: Being re-elected, twice, to represent Caterham Valley at Surrey County Council, and recently being invited to Number 10 by the Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Most embarrassing moment: Arriving at my young son’s nursery school to watch the annual play only to find that he had set off the fire extinguisher and flooded the school.
