BMMF Pilots, Crew and Aircraft

Below are details of the pilots, crew and aircraft taking place in the special Battle of Britain Memorial Flight at Kenley Airfield on Sunday, 17th August.

Squadron Leader Duncan 'Dunc' Mason, officer commanding RAF Battle of Britain Memorial Flight ('BBMF').  He will be the fighter pilot in Supermarine Spitfire MK 356 (MKiX) used in the D Day operation.

Flight Lieutenant Antony 'Parky' Parkinson MBE.  He will be the fighter pilot in Hawker Hurricane LF363.  This aircraft is no stranger to RAF Kenley because she was used in both films 'Reach for the Sky' and 'Angels One Five' both filmed at Kenley.  

Flight Lieutenant Roger Nichols is the pilot in the Lancaster (Bi) PA474.

Flight Lieutenant Tim 'Twigs' Dunlop is the co-pilot in Lancaster (Bi) PA474.

Flight Lieutenant James 'Big Jim' Furness is the navigator and flight lieutenant Jim Stokes is flight engineer.

The Lancaster is currently in the markings of a 617 'Dambuster' squadron aircraft 'Thumper MKiii'.

The Canadian Lancaster is privately owned by the Canadian Warplane Heritage Museum and receives no state funding. 

The Canadian Lancaster FM213 is currently in the markings of an aircraft representing 419 (Moose) squadron.
