Fundraising Success for SSAFA
Published: Friday, 05 May 2017 14:40
On Friday 28th April, the Red Lion Pub in Bletchingley held its annual St George's day fundraising event in aid of SSAFA (Caterham and Tandridge branch). SSAFA is a military  charity which helps members of the Forces and their families.

The Red Lion have been supporting SSAFA by holding this annual fund-raising event for over 10 years, raising many thousands of pounds.
The management and staff of the Red Lion all took part enthusiastically on the day. The pub was festooned with SSAFA banners and red and white flags. All the staff were dressed in red and white.

Tracy, the landlady, obtained amazing prizes both for the raffle and the auction. The main prize in the auction was for 4 nights in Rome with tickets to see Tom Jones. This alone went for £1300 and the total raised by the auction was £2500. The final figure for whole day is not yet known but it will enable SSAFA to provide a lot of support to those who need it.
