MEP and founder member of the UK Independence Party, Nigel Farage, is to visit Woldingham School on Monday, 1st February.
Mr Farage has been invited by the school's Greenwell Society to speak at one of its regular lectures. Other speakers of note have included Anne Widdecombe, MP; Crispin Blunt, MP; Sir Nicholas Soames, MP; and Mark Lanning, the US Embassy's Cultural Attaché.
Mr Farage, MEP for the South East region, is noted for his outspoken views on the UK's membership of the EU, and has recently and controversially recommended banning the burka in the UK. His views and opinions are likely to fuel the Euro-sceptic debate among the enquiring minds of Woldingham's students. And, with members of the Upper Sixth Form reaching eligibility to vote at this year's General Election, Mr Farage will be hopeful of influencing the decision-making process.
