Amongst the bands performing on the Saturday will be 'Edged', last year's winners of the Tandridge Has Talent competition. 'Edged' are competing in the finals of the Live and Unsigned competition at London's O2 Arena in July along with another local band, 'The Merry Gang' who are also playing at DeFest. The line-up for Saturday also features the youngest band to play at Glastonbury - 'The Theory of 6 Degrees', hardhitting Indi rock band 'Mandelson', local band 'Murder is Rude' and 'Shattered Intent'. Other attractions will be Mountain Boarding, Zorbing, a Drum and Base Rave Tent supplied by Corrupt Radio, sideshows and a bar. Saturday will also see the finals of this year's Tandridge Has Talent competition.
The Father's Day special on the 19th June will feature Swing Rock 'n' Roll, a birds of prey display and even Can-Can girls! Another new attraction on Sunday will be the 'Caterham Cruise' featuring vintage and military vehicles. There will be hot food, a beer tent and craft fair on both days and full live FM coverage from Ridge Radio. Entrance on both days is £4 for adults and £3 for under 16's. For more information visit www.defest. com. If you own a classic car and would like to take part in the Caterham Cruise, call Mark on 07954 591631. |

The Caterham Festival 2011 kicks off this weekend and one of the highlights will be the DeFest music festival taking place on the weekend of 18th-19th June. The format will be similar to last year's event, with rock bands and entertainment for youngsters lined up for Saturday and a more relaxed, laid back atmosphere for Father's Day on Sunday 19th.
The Mercedes Benz Driving Academy will be in attendance again, where anyone over eight years old can drive a Mercedes.
