The UK has one of the most ambitious CO2 emission reduction targets in the world, and to help achieve these targets, is offering up to 125,000 households £400 towards the cost of upgrading their boiler. The scheme launched on 18th January and with the high demand for the £400 cashback voucher, is expected to last approximately just five weeks. There are currently around three and a half million homes in England with the very least efficient type of boiler (G-rated or worse) and the installation of a more efficient heating system is an effective way of reducing household energy bills and harmful CO2 emissions. New boilers use less fuel, resulting in lower CO2 emissions and running costs. Renewable heat technologies do not use fossil fuels, reducing CO2 emissions still further. Upgrading an old G-rated boiler to an A-rated one should reduce the household heating bill by about a quarter, an average saving of £235 a year. The installation of a new A-rated boiler costs around £2,000. The estimated saving in heating, together with the £400 Government's Scrappage Scheme grant and the £200 Installer Discount offered by Capital Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd. will pay for the new boiler in six years. The customer also benefits from a significantly safer unit built to more stringent regulations, and an increase in property value. If you believe your home has a G-rated or worse boiler then you need to act fast! Call Capital Plumbing & Heating Services Ltd on 01883 348511 who, as a Gas Safe Registered installer, will be pleased to advise you on your eligibility for the scheme and arrange a visit to provide you with a quote if required. Have the full make and model of your boiler to hand when you call. Dean Croft of Capital Plumbing & Heating said: “It is very important that the public respond very quickly to this offer as there are no plans at this time to extend the boiler scrappage scheme further than the first 125,000 applicants. Householders are naturally reluctant to replace a working boiler even though it is wasteful on energy, and so an incentive to do this is vital. I urge anyone who wants more information to pick up the phone and speak to our fully trained customer service personnel who are able to advise on 01883 348511.”
