An exciting new event combining running with swimming is soon to be held in Woldingham. Two aquathlons will be held at Woldingham School involving a 16-length swim of 400 metres, followed by a 5km run in the magnificent grounds of the school. The races will be held on the evening of Wednesday 20th July and Wednesday 17th August. Organiser Matt Chapman, said that while the event will be popular with those who take part in triathlons, it will also be suitable for athletes of all levels. Matt said: "Everybody can take part really, as long as you can swim 16 lengths, then you can run or jog the 5km at your own leisure. "It would be great to get people who have never done anything like this before to have a go and see if they like it because it is a good way of getting into triathlons and getting fit. We hope that local triathlon, running and swimming clubs will join in too." To enter the competition, visit www.thetriproject.co.uk |
