Seven year-old Caterham resident Kit Bradshaw-Haydock joined a 50 strong cast last weekend in a performance of Beauty and the Beast at Whitgift School in South Croydon. The show played to a full house on three nights and received a standing ovation for the final performance. The cast, mostly consisted of Whitgift boys who took roles ranging from The Beast to The Village Dames! However, they stopped short of playing all the female roles themselves and invited ten girls from local schools to join the cast.

Kit, the youngest member of the cast by five years, has been rehearsing for four months after school and more recently has had to miss nearly two weeks of school attending rehearsals for six hours at a time. However, Kit did not get out of doing her schoolwork - her teacher from Essendene School has been sending her homework home and she has had a taste of how hard child performers must work to keep up!
