A charity that offers horticultural work to people suffering mental health problems is looking for somewhere to store their equipment. The Richmond Fellowship is an international charity that helps people with mental health problems to work in the community. Glyn Elliott, senior supervisor with the Richmond Fellowship, said: "We are currently based in Queen's Park, but we need somewhere nearby to store our gardening tools and use as an office. Maybe there is a local business or charity that would be willing to share its facilities or possibly someone looking for a long term tenant for a small rent in the area."
The Richmond Fellowship is also looking for volunteers with an interest in gardening and conservation, to work alongside clients needing horticultural training and support, to gain experience in these areas. They have a contract with Tandridge District Council to maintain Queens Park, Warlingham Green, the garden outside East Surrey Museum and the flower beds at Soper Hall.
The Fellowship also offers a free gardening service to the disabled and elderly in Tandridge, who are referred through the council. Glyn said: "Our clients find this work particularly beneficial as they are able to meet the people they are helping."
People with mental health problems who think they may benefit from working with the Richmond Fellowship are also invited to get in touch - see advertisement for contact details.
