On Saturday 24th September children will have the chance to search for hidden treasure at the annual Pirates Fun Day in Church Walk, Caterham. 'Captain Jack Sparrow' and pirate DJ Helga will be entertaining the shoppers and the Centre will be decked out with bunting to add to the atmosphere. The children's Pirate Fancy Dress competition will take place at 2.30pm, with registration from 11am. Helga the Pirate will judge the competition and all of the entries will receive a prize. The first, second and third place winners will receive goodie bags. Sonia Hunt the Town Crier will lead the fancy dress parade through Church Walk and there will be free face painting outside the Wimpy restaurant. Entry forms for the children's shop window competition can be collected from First Choice Travel. The Treasure Hunt is supported by every shop in the Church Walk Shopping Centre; the children will have to spot an item in the stores' windows which is not normally sold, complete the entry form and return it into First Choice Travel. Morrisons are supporting the event by providing free all day parking on the day so that shoppers can stay longer and enjoy themselves. |
