Three teenagers released on police bail in connection with Whyteleafe arson |

Detectives have released three teenage boys on police bail pending further enquiries into an arson at the Old Boatyard in Godstone Road, Whyteleafe. A 15-year-old from Kenley, a 16-year-old from Thornton Heath, and a 16-year-old from Croydon, have all been bailed until Saturday, 5th November. The arrests relate to an arson at the derelict, three-storey building shortly before 12.30am on Tuesday, 20th September. A number of police units attended the scene along with Surrey Fire & Rescue who brought the blaze under control. No one was inside the building at the time of the arson. Detective Constable Dale Brunt said: "We are committed to establishing the facts surrounding this arson and I would urge anyone with any information regarding this incident who has not yet spoken to an officer to come forward. "This reckless arson resulted in extensive structural damage to the building which meant it had to be demolished. "I hope these swift arrests reassure the community we are determined to identify those responsible for this arson and ensure they are brought to justice. I would urge anyone who believes they may have seen something or has information they feel is relevant, to please give Surrey Police a call."
