A supported housing scheme for young people with disabilities has been spruced up for the residents thanks to the Goldshield Pharmaceutical Company. Goldshield funded and provided 20 volunteers to carry out the project at the Diana Francis House in Caterhamon- the-Hill last summer. Visitors were able to see the improvements at the Open Day held at the house on Tuesday 13th September attended by the Chairman of Tandridge District Council, Brian Perkins and his wife Sonia.

As well as decorating the inside of the building the volunteers, helped by residents of the house, carried out work in the garden and built a new barbecue. Support worker, Maryam Bouregaa, said: "We applied at the last moment to be considered for the volunteering project being carried out by Goldshield and were delighted to be accepted. The house and garden had become extremely tired looking and with the Open Day coming the house needed some urgent tender, loving care!

"We had a brilliant day with the Goldshield Team and the house has been transformed. They have made it look so welcoming and cared for."
