On Friday, 18th November Councillor Jeremy Webster representing the Tandridge Community Fund presented a cheque for £500 to the Caterham Sea Cadets at their hall in The Grove, Caterham. Chief Petty Officer Pete Atkins and Petty Officer Richard Fearis were instrumental in arranging for the Sea Cadets to act as marshals at the Classical Music Concert held at Tupwood Lane last July. Chair of the Sea Cadets Andrea Frost expressed her thanks to the Fund for the donation, that will go towards funding Cadet activities and facilities for the thriving group of 31 young people. The presentation was the latest in a series of donations that the Fund has made over the last year. Other recipients have been Godstone at Play, Stepping Stones and Age Concern in Oxted, the de Stafford Baby Cafe, Caterham and young Tandridge musician Ross Steventon. Other donations are planned as the fund grows and money gained from interest becomes available for local good causes.
