Denise Longhurst, née Stock, from Caterham-onthe- Hill, has found a special way to say "thank you" to St. Mary's Church for their support following a heartbreaking bereavement in the summer of 2010. On 12th June, just three days before their first baby was due to be delivered by Caesarian section, Denise and her husband Warren learned during a routine hospital check-up that the baby's heartbeat had stopped. 'Amy, Our Little Bit of Heaven', is Denise's moving account of the experience, from the happiness of Denise, Warren and their families during the pregnancy, to the ordeal of the Caesarian delivery and the grieving process afterwards. Denise said: "What happened to us is actually more common than you realise, but at least it means there is a lot of support out there. "Father Duncan Swan at St. Mary's Church conducted Amy's funeral and he has been massively supportive. "Writing the book helped me to deal with my feelings and was a way to put something back into the church." Happily, the couple now have a healthy four-month old baby girl called Sophie (pictured above). 'Amy, Our Little Bit of Heaven' by Denise Longhurst costs £8.99 and £3 from each sale is going to St. Mary's Church.
