Now is the time to register for the Caterham Rotary Bunny Fun Run 2012!
Published: Wednesday, 21 December 2011 21:59

The Harestone Lops team crossing the finishing line in 2011.Registration has now opened for the Caterham Rotary Bunny Fun Run 2012, taking place on Sunday, 1st April in Queen's Park, Caterham.

Over 300 people took part in last year's event in glorious sunshine, with each runner receiving an Easter Egg to take home with them. The organisers of this year's event hope that even more people will join in the fun.

Runners can participate in either the 1k 'Fun Run' around the park or the 5k race over an undulating course through neighbouring Chaldon and back again.

All registered runners will receive an egg again this year, and are encouraged to wear bunny-themed outfits for the occasion. As well as prizes for the winners of each race, there will be special prizes for the Best Dressed Bunnies!

Proceeds from the event will be donated to the charity 'Disability Challengers' which offers support to 34 local families. The charity offers play and activity schemes for disabled youngsters aged 4-25, giving them a place to mix and have fun with others in a safe environment. Their Caterham scheme operates from de Stafford Sports Centre in Burntwood Lane.

One of the organisers of the Bunny Fun Run, Richard York, said: "Disability Challengers is a fantastic charity but runners can also get sponsorship for whatever charity they choose. We would like to encourage charities to put together their own teams to take part in the race and raise funds.
