The toddler play area in Queen's Park, Caterham-on-the-Hill is set to be revamped, thanks to a successful grant application of £59,300 by Tandridge District Council to Surrey County Council. The grant will allow the Council to transform the existing area to enable children with disabilities to have far greater access and enjoyment of the facilities. The new inclusive toddler area will consist of a kinderland play point, dish roundabout, sensory orbs, curved mirrors, seesaw, musical play items and a new sand play area. The new zone will also benefit from a colourful carpet of safety surfacing allowing greater access for everyone. SutcliffePlay has won the tender to install the new play area, which it is hoped will be open by April. Councillor Tony Elias, Chairman of the Community Services Committee, said: "I am delighted we have managed to secure another grant, as this allows us to continue to improve and maintain children's play areas for everyone to enjoy." |
