Local community radio station, Ridge Radio, is seeking ambassadors to link up with all the 21 towns and villages of Tandridge. The task for the ambassadors will be to liaise with businesses, charities and community projects to provide a conduit for news and events. They will also attend local events with presenters to record material for broadcast. One of the most important roles of the ambassadors will be to ensure the studio manager at Ridge Radio is kept up to date with what is happening across Tandridge. The station is also looking for Studio Producers to support the presenters behind the glass. The areas of responsibility will include research, meeting and greeting guests, taking phone calls and checking material for accuracy. Ridge Radio is not financially self-sustaining from membership fees alone so fundraising is essential in order for the station to continue to be affordable to Tandridge residents. The station is therefore looking for creative people to work with the ambassadors to find local opportunities to obtain funding. Ridge Radio Station Manager, Mark Jones said: "Applicants for the voluntary positions will need to be self motivated, energetic and community minded. It is also important that they are willing to commit to the station as we will rely on them to turn up. In return, they will make some great new friends and enjoy the success of making a shared dream a reality!"
