Thursday, 1st March sees the launch of an exciting new scheme to encourage residents to shop locally in Caterham. Members of the 'Shop Smart, Shop Local' loyalty scheme can collect stamps at outlets displaying a 'Shoppers Passport' sign. Once ten stamps have been collected and their card is filled, the card will be entered in a draw that will take place on Saturday 28th April. In the first draw there will be a £750 first prize, £150 second prize and ten £10 cash prizes. Additional prizes may be offered by participating shops. The winners will be notified and their names announced in The Caterham and District Independent. A minimum purchase of £5 is required in each outlet to obtain a stamp on the Shoppers Passport card and cards must be completed with stamps from at least three different places. Completed cards can be handed in to JJ Browne Jewellers in Godstone Road, Caterham Valley, Peter Groom Jewellers in Church Walk, Caterham Valley or Vivace Pianos in the High Street, Caterham-on-the- Hill. Shops taking part in the scheme will be listed on the Shop Smart, Shop Local website, www.shopsmartcaterham. co.uk Depending on the success of the pilot scheme, other draws may take place and be announced in the press and on the Shop Smart website. Joining the Shop Smart, Shop Local loyalty scheme is free for shoppers.
