Local entertainer and DJ John Lazenby is passionate about supporting local charities and promoting community issues. As such he decided some months ago it would be a great idea to stage a Warlingham-based concert and ball in aid of the Lily Foundation. The Lily Foundation was founded in October 2007 following Lily Anna Merritt's death to Mitochondrial Disease earlier that year. It is committed to finding a cure for Mitochondrial Disease and other metabolic disorders through funding research and providing support to those involved and affected by metabolic disorders. Along with a dedicated group of friends and colleagues John has now got the wheels in motion. The black tie event will be held at Botley Hill Farmhouse on Friday 18th May. John said: "The evening will feature entertainment by local band Stolen ID, Surrey-based vocal duo Eleventh Hour and of course a live Swing show by myself and guest Jenny Green, a Coulsdon-based Jazz Singer." There will be close-up magician Andrew Kelly at the event, local caricaturist Helen Pointer and photographer Kevin Black. An auction with some fabulous prizes and a raffle are also planned. John and the team are still working on the organisation of the event and further news will be released over the coming weeks and months. The cost of attendance is only £20 per person and there will be a delicious table served buffet meal included in the price. The organisers have already sold over 100 so get in there quickly. Book tickets now on 01959 577 154.
