On Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th March The Arc in Weston Drive, Caterham will be the venue for the Tandridge Volunteer Fair. The Fair is a free event aimed at volunteers who are looking to get involved and give something back to the local community. Organised by Tandridge Voluntary Service Council (TVSC) and Ridge Radio the event will be a great opportunity to learn about some of the organisations that use volunteers in the local community. Volunteering roles are varied and diverse and current opportunities include working at Ridge Radio, the local community radio station serving Tandridge, The Arc, Caterham's arts centre, The Orpheus Centre in Godstone and walking rescue dogs for Rescue Remedies. People with wide-ranging skills can do so much for the local community by sharing their know-how. If you have some time on your hands, are unemployed or retired or just want to add to your CV, Tandridge Volunteer Fair is a good place to start and find out more. TVSC runs three volunteer centres at Caterham, Oxted and Lingfield serving the whole of Tandridge. The centres specialise in matching volunteers to local organisations and the Caterham Volunteer Centre manager will be on hand to register anyone visiting the fair who might be interested in becoming a volunteer. The Fair will be open from 10am until 4pm on both Saturday and Sunday. The cafe at the Arc will be open for food and drink and there is free on site car parking.
