After the success of last years Street Party in Caterham on the Hill, organisers have decided to hold another one. The Street Party was just one of over 70 events in the first ever Caterham Festival. This year, it will be even bigger, with more games for the children, more stalls, more entertainers and more music areas. Last year over 200 Jelly and ice creams were given out and this year around four times as many will be prepared. Chairman of the Festival Andy Parr said "I think that this is one of the best events ever to happen in Caterham. Over 4000 people attended last year and there was no trouble at the Street Party. On 30th May this year we expect even more people to come along." The committee are now looking for local bands, entertainers, musicians or buskers to entertain people on the day as well as stewards and helpers. If you would like to be considered, please call Andy on 01883 340561 or email This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. The Festival will start on 29th May and run through to the end of June. Many exciting new events are being planned, as well as repeating some of the more popular events. Some dates are: Open Caterham will be on 5th and 6th June, Caterham Carnival on 12th June, a Teddy Bears picnic on the 13th June and the music festival, De Fest, will be on 19th and 20th June Keep your eye on the web site www.caterhamfestival.org for more details.
