Detectives in Surrey Heath are renewing an appeal to members of the public for help to identify the woman in this CCTV image. Officers want to speak to her in connection with a theft of a tortoise from a Windlesham store. A giant African spur thigh tortoise was stolen from the shop on Tuesday, 21 February sometime between 3.30pm and 4pm. The reptile is valued at £200 and needs to be carefully looked after. Detective Constable Barry Collyer investigating said: "Extensive enquiries have been made to try to identify the woman in this CCTV but as yet to no avail. I hope by furthering the search for information someone may recognise this woman in order that we might identify her and help further my enquiries into this incident. The reptile has very specific requirements and living conditions. If the tortoise is not kept in a thermostatically controlled environment it will fall ill and is likely to die." If you have any information in relation to the woman shown or any detail which could help the enquiry please call Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference SH/12/687. Alternatively Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously and free of charge on 0800 555 111. |
