A TV Dragon appeared in the heart of Oxted this week to mark the arrival of a new business in town and support a boost for local young hockey players. Surrey resident Theo Paphitis, most famous for his role in BBC TV's "Dragons' Den", was in Oxted on Wednesday to open the new offices of Homecroft Wealth, an established firm of independent financial advisers, in Station Road West. Declaring the office open, he unveiled a new logo commissioned to coincide with the company's move from Banstead. Homecroft Wealth CEO, Stephen Piper, commented: "Theo knows a thing or two about investing for the future, so we are very grateful to have his blessing." At the launch Mr Piper also announced a ?1,000 Homecroft Wealth Youth Development Award to Oxted Hockey Club to support youth coaching. The Award was presented by Theo Paphitis who was then pictured crossing hockey sticks with young club players. Theo, who owns the Boux Avenue lingerie brand and is Chairman of Ryman Stationery commented: "I am delighted to be associated with Homecroft Wealth's initiative to help develop the players of tomorrow. Combining sport and business in this way is a winning formula and one that I wholeheartedly recommend." Stephen Piper added: "Oxted offers a dynamic and thriving business environment and we look forward to playing our part in helping it grow. In our business, we understand the benefits of lifelong planning, so the tie-up with Oxted Hockey Club and the nurturing of young talent is a perfect fit for us." John Ayling, Commercial Chairman of Oxted Hockey Club, said: "We very much welcome this move from Homecroft Wealth. We are a club for all ages but commercial support for our youth coaching schemes is a key priority for us in our development." |
