A building that has been empty at Caterham Dene Hospital for approximately two years is currently undergoing refurbishment in preparation for its re-opening later this year. Paediatric services provided by Virgin Care will be moving out of East Surrey Hospital to the vacant Conifers building as soon as the refurbishment is complete. First Community Health and Care who runs the Caterham Dene Hospital, including the new Walk-In Centre, will also occupy some of the space in the refurbished building. Conifers has been unoccupied since Surrey Borders Trust, responsible for mental health in Surrey, moved to other clinics. Chris Botten, Programme Director for Community Services at the NHS and Tandridge District Councillor for Portley Ward in Caterham, said: "We are making the best use of the available premises at the Caterham Dene Hospital which has always been our priority." |
