At 2.30pm on Sunday, 3rd June, as part of the Caterham Festival programme, author, Stanley Jackson, will quite literally take the centre stage at the Street Party in the High Street, Caterham-on-the-Hill. Stanley will be giving a talk about his behind-the-scenes role working alongside some of the biggest and best-loved names in British sport, politics and showbusiness. As the Founder and Director of the UK's premier public speaker bureau, for the past 20 years, Stanley has booked 'A'-List, household-name stars for major corporate events, a career that has always kept him firmly backstage and out of the limelight. Now though, as he celebrates 2012 as the 20th anniversary of his company, Performing Artistes, Stanley is stepping into the spotlight for the first time to unveil his no-holds-barred autobiography Get Me A Celebrity! (Memoirs of a Celebrity Booker). It is the full and frank story of his charmed life rubbing shoulders with the rich and famous – and often the infamous, in which he lifts the lid on The Fame Game and reveals the hidden side to some of the nation's biggest stars whom we know and love. When Stanley makes his special guest appearance at the Caterham Festival he will be talking about his new book and revealing some of its celebrity tales. Stanley said: "Many of the celebrities and famous names in my book are the stars people may recognise and think they know. "But often these polished professional performers are hiding a very different story and side to their characters to the one we see daily on our television screens, when they know that the public is watching. "Through my business, I have spent the past 20 years working with great talents like Ronnie Corbett, Jo Brand and Richard Hammond, from the BBC's Top Gear. These stars are full of surprises. "Some of them appear super-slick professionals, but are really a bundle of nerves underneath. Others seem tough on screen but really have hearts of gold when you get to know them. It's been an honour for me to meet them all." The book is already available on Amazon (in both paperback and Kindle) and can be purchased from Waterstones, rrp £14.99.
