Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling on people in the Surrey area to join in the charity's Blooming Great Tea Party celebrations this summer. To launch the event Joe Pasquale took time out to host a party whilst touring in 'Doctor in the House'. He was joined on set by London and South East Volunteer Press Officer, Karen Green. The pair enjoyed a cuppa and a slice of cake whilst Joe kept Karen laughing with his funny jokes and stories. Surrey residents are invited to hold their own tea party anytime during June and July, to raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care. Your tea party, however big or small, will help Marie Curie Nurses to provide free end–of-life care for local people in their own homes. You can hold your party wherever you want - at home, work, in your local club or school. The party could be anything from tea with friends to an elegant high tea or a sports-club match tea - the ideas are endless. Community Fundraising Manager Rosalind Hooper said: "The tea parties held last year were a huge success as fundraising events, not to mention as happy social occasions. It's great that people all over the UK are doing the same – the money raised will make a big difference".
