A group of children with special needs had a fabulous treat recently, thanks to the members of Caterham Rotary Club. Every year Rotary clubs across the UK take children who either have special needs or are from deprived backgrounds on a day out totally funded by the Rotary clubs concerned. For some years Caterham Rotary club has entertained local children from Clifton Hill School in Caterham, taking them to Chessington World of Adventure for a day of fun and excitement. This year's visit took place on Tuesday 12th June when 19 children from Clifton Hill accompanied by 20 teachers and carers plus several Caterham Rotarians made the visit. After several rainy days before the day out, the weather on Tuesday was kinder with quite a lot of sunshine chasing away the clouds. The children enjoyed the multitude of rides and enjoyed a packed lunch laid on by the Rotarians. Caterham Rotarian and event organiser Claude Bertin said: "It was a happy day again for all our guests and so worthwhile."
