Thanks to the Olympic Torch and relay coming to Surrey, local artists have the excuse to extend their Open Studios event and will be opening their studio doors once again from July 20th–22nd. This will be a fantastic opportunity to meet some of our most prolific artists and makers in Surrey and it is free! There will be free prize draws to enter, and visitors can vote for their favourite artist. There will also be creative workshops on offer including woodturning or collograph printmaking to try. Carol Jackman, the Surrey Artists Open Studios Coordinator, said: "I have already managed to visit 20 studios from the June dates and cannot wait to visit more in July. The Surrey Open Studio event is a great day out for everyone!" Look out for the orange Open Studios flags and balloons or pick up a brochure at your local library or arts venue. Open times of studios are 11am–5pm (unless otherwise stated in the brochure). Open days vary and many studios will be open 20th–22nd July. Brochures can be picked up from local libraries, arts venues, the Guildford Tourist Information Centre or send an large letter SAE to SAOS brochure request, Surrey Arts, Westfield School, Bonsey Lane, Woking, GU22 9PR. |
