A summer of song for local group ‘Charisma’
Published: Monday, 30 July 2012 19:27

‘Charisma’ performing at the Caterham Festival Street Party on Sunday 3rd June.

The teenage vocal group Charisma performed at five venues over the Jubilee celebration period in June and raised just over £1,000 for their charity Shooting Star CHASE. The group entertained visitors to the Caterham Festival Street Party and then at Priory Park in Reigate. They refused to be beaten by the rain at the Chaldon Village Jubilee Picnic and went on to give a heart warming performance to the residents of Hillcroft Court who collected £450 in just half an hour after hearing them sing! The group then went to the Chipstead Jubilee celebrations where they delighted their audience once more with their Jubilee songs.

Charisma was formed last Christmas by Madeline Castrey after she was ill herself and wanted to raise money for children who would not get better. The group have set themselves a challenge to raise £5,000 by the end of the year and are well on target to do this.
