Plans are now fully under way for the creation of a Neighbourhood Plan following the official designation of the Neighbourhood Area by Tandridge District Council on Wednesday 18th July.
The CR3 Forum, a shared initiative between Caterham, Chaldon and Whyteleafe has been formed to create the Neighbourhood Plan. The Plan can influence local policies but must comply with certain rules, such as national policy and guidance and generally fit with Tandridge District Council’s core strategy. The CR3 Forum is now inviting local participation and over the next 12 months several teams will look at different aspects of our local area. A steering group to get the process started was formed recently made up of representatives from Caterham, Chaldon and Whyteleafe. The different topics that will feature in the Neighbourhood Plan are Jobs and Employment, Leisure and Community, Public Services - Police/Health/Education, Transport, Rural and Urban Design plus Heritage and lastly Utilities.
Chris Windridge, the chairman of the steering group, said: “We had a stand in Chuch Walk recently and over 30 people have already registered to take part which is an excellent start but we would welcome many more.” For more information about how to get involved with the Neighbourhood Plan and influence decisions concerning Caterham, Whyteleafe and Chaldon, visit www.cr3forum .org.uk .
