If you are a teenager serious about drama, or have one living in your midst, The Arc in 39 Weston Drive is running a challenging one week course for 13-18 year olds this summer. The course runs from Monday 20th-Saturday 25th August and guarantees that teenagers will learn loads and be part of a top quality show. The play chosen for this year is 'Faustus', adapted from Marlowe's 'Doctor Faustus', the time-enduring tale of the man who sells his soul to the devil, for 24 years of glory here on Earth. Beth Wood, Course Director and Artistic Director of The Arc, said: "I'm really looking forward to it. We try with these courses to build in tuition on the famous theatre practitioners as well as voice and physical theatre. This year the script works on so many different levels and incorporates a variety of styles, so it is perfect as a teaching tool." The course is six days long with a full show at 6pm on the final day. There will also be work to do outside the hours on lines and character. Places cost £75 for members and £95 for non-members. To book a place telephone the Box Office on 01883 330380. |
