Local schoolboy, Dexter Babler, aged five, has managed to grow an enormous sunflower after his entry to his family's sunflower competition grew to approximately 13 foot. Dexter and his sister Zoe, aged nine live in Caterham-on-the-Hill and attend St Francis RC Catholic School. Dexter's mum, Karen, said: "We had a family competition to see whose sunflower would grow the tallest. Dexter's flower is the tallest by a couple of feet. We've managed to attach a cane to stop it from bending but can't get any higher so we're hoping the top doesn't bend over. Dexter is very proud of his sunflower and thinks it will keep on growing to the moon!" |
