An injured swan crash landed in Godstone School's wildlife garden. The first person to spot the swan was one of our teachers. We were all very worried and excited. In half an hour Leatherhead Rescue arrived at Godstone School. They wrapped up the swan in a leather blanket. The children cried and cheered. They carefully carried it back to the pond on the Green. They carefully unwrapped it and the swan swam over to it's mate and they twisted their necks to say hello.

On Friday 26th February you will never guess what happened! Well it all started when a teacher saw a swan in the wildlife garden! It had crash landed in the wildlife garden. It wasn't moving so we were a bit worried. Well I will tell you a bit about the swan. It was a male he had black blood on it's forehead. Well now I will go back to the story. Mrs Goodwin our headmistress called the animal rescue. Within half an hour they were there and wrapped it up with bandages and carefully carried it out. We were so excited, well just think it's a brilliant opportunity to be part of a swan rescue. Next they took it to the pond and it was sooo cute. They crossed necks. We said thank you to the rescue people. They told us it didn't glide off because it didn't have room. When we got back to class we wrote these stories that you are reading now.

You'll never guess what happened today!!! Friday 26th February at lunchtime a teacher looked out of the window and saw a swan in our wildlife garden!!! We think it flew over the workmen and cut it's beak. It landed in the wildlife garden. We were shocked! Mrs Goodwin our headteacher came in. She was quite worried because she thought it was injured a lot. She phoned the animal rescue. The animal rescue said it didn't have enough room for it to take off itself. At lunchtime the children crowded round the field. The animal rescue held the swan's beak and wrapped it up in a very strong bandage. The animal rescue carried it away with our teacher following behind. They took it to Godstone pond. And that was the last we saw that swan. It was a really exciting day. I hope you enjoy reading this story that you are reading now.

You'll never guess what happened today at school! We had a beautiful swan in our wildlife garden. It was a male. The first person to see it was one of our teachers. Then the word spread round the school. It got to Mrs Goodwin our headmistress. Mrs Goodwin called the Leatherhead Animal Rescue. They came as soon as they could. When they got here the people wrapped it up in some soft bandages. They carried the male swan to the pond. They carefully unwrapped the swan. Then the swan saw the female swan. As soon as it was free it jumped into the water and it made a big splash! It paddled to the female swan and they did a dance with their necks.
