As part of the wedding celebrations, the Orpheus Centre hosted a pre-wedding celebration for Sam Gyimah MP, his fiancée Dr Nicky Black and guests on Saturday 22nd September. The event also doubled up as a fundraiser for the Centre. Joined by local friends, community representatives and family, guests were entertained by a medley of hits played by the Orpheus Band. Founded by Sir Richard Stilgoe, the Orpheus Centre provides performing arts and life skills teaching for young disabled adults, and is a charity Sam has supported for the past couple of years. The wedding ceremony will take place on September 29th at The Chapel of St Mary Undercroft in the House of Commons. Speaking after the Orpheus Centre event, Sam Gyimah MP commented: "As fans of the tremendous work carried out by the Centre we felt it was the perfect setting for our pre-wedding celebration. The medley of hits played by the Orpheus Band went down particularly well with guests. "I was touched that so many of those who have supported me over the years were able to attend and be a part of this celebration. "Both families felt extremely welcome and I am thankful to the Orpheus Centre and all those who attended that made the event so special for both Nicky and I." |
