Marie Curie Cancer Care is calling on secondary schools in Surrey to Sing Out for the charity this Christmas time. The charity is asking the county's school choirs and music groups to dedicate a Christmas performance to raising funds for the local Marie Curie Nursing Service. Marie Curie Community Fundraiser Sally Sansom said: "By singing out this Christmas time for Marie Curie Cancer Care you can help raise vital funds so that Marie Curie Nurses can continue to provide free care for terminally ill people in their own homes." Marie Curie Nurses in Surrey will be working throughout Christmas and the New Year, ensuring terminally ill patients can spend Christmas at home with their families. To take part in Sing Out all you need to do is choose a date between November and December to hold your singing event, decide on the venue and then warm up those vocal chords and get practising. Registration for Sing Out is now open. To find out more about how your school can organise its own event, please call 0845 052 4184 or visit www.mariecurie.org.uk/singout. |
