For the eighth year running, students at de Stafford School in Burntwood Lane, Caterham took part in the Macmillan 'World's biggest coffee morning' last Friday 28th September. Students in year 10 worked hard together to plan and run the event. They spent the morning preparing the school hall, blowing up Macmillan balloons and displaying information on the amazing work that Macmillan nurses do. They each put their baking skills to the test and cooked a variety of cakes and biscuits to sell as part of their fundraising efforts. Staff and members of the community were invited to come and have a coffee and cake and donate money. Students were absolutely delighted at the end of a very hectic morning to discover they had broken the school record for money raised for this event with a total of £348. |
