On Saturday, 13th March 160 people boogied the night away at The Village Inn in Caterham-on-the-Hill at a fundraising concert in aid of the Caterham Pumas youth football club. 'Chicory Tip', whose seventies hits included 'Son of my Father', performed the live music for the night which raised over £1,400 which will go towards the cost of constructing a new club-house for the Pumas. Caterham Pumas registration secretary, Rhain Thomas, said: "The evening was very successful and everyone we have spoken to has said that they loved it. We have planning permission for our new clubhouse and hope to start building it in the summer."
The club's training ground is situated behind The Fox pub in Coulsdon Road and currently has over 12 teams, spanning over nine age groups from Under 6's to Under 17's, all competing in the Epsom & Ewell Youth Football League.
