Following a great deal of hard work, the Croy Tech British Sub Aqua Club has received Sport England funding of £10,000 through the Lottery Small Grants programme. The cash has helped to fund the upgrade of the club's existing boat by purchasing a new "B" Class Dive Boat, Engine and Trailer. The cost of the project was close to £29,000, and the difference has been raised through existing club funds, donations and ongoing fundraising events. The Boat: Croy-Tech 3 was officially named and launched on 11th November from her berth in Brighton Marina, and several proud members, relatives and friends took part in her initial sea trials, in perfect weather conditions. To share in their success, the club wishes to invite individuals from the wider community to experience scuba diving by offering the opportunity to participate in a 'Try Dive' at their local venue, the Royal Russell School Pool, Coombe Lane, Croydon (prior booking required). The invitation is aimed at creating a greater awareness of this activity and attracting newcomers. They are also very keen to recruit new club members both qualified and trainees alike.
