The refurbishment of the Soper Hall in Harestone Valley Road, Caterham by the Soper Hall Community Centre Ltd continues with improvements to the toilet facilities, the creation of a new meeting room, redecoration to the communal areas and a new kitchen/servery area under construction. This work has paid dividends for the community and the Memorial Hall has played host to two types of functions recently that have not been seen in the Soper Hall for many years – a Christening party and a children's birthday party. The building echoed to the sounds of children having fun, parents relaxing and celebrating, and all in a safely controlled environment.

With a recent enquiry for a wedding reception the Soper Hall looks set to regain a place at the heart of the community.
