Essendene School pupils get ready for the '10p Challenge'.
On Wednesday 4th November pupils at Essendene Lodge set themselves a challenge to collect enough 10p pieces to make at least one line round the playground.
In glorious weather the children, class by class, went out to the playground with their collection of just over £300 worth of ten pence pieces - 3000 coins! They managed to go round the playground once and another 6 metres too. They all enjoyed seeing whose class made the longest section of the line, carefully judged by Miss Relph their PE teacher. Year 3's was the longest, claiming the tin of sweets for their efforts!
The money raised will be split, half in aid of playground improvements and the other half donated to the Tadworth Children's Trust in memory of Milo Gray, who had been a pupil at Essendene Lodge School.
