Monday 10th December was an exciting day for over 70 gifted and talented dancers who were given the opportunity to learn different styles of dancing during a one-day workshop. The children from six primary and secondary schools in the Coulsdon Cluster group of schools were invited to the Oasis Academy Coulsdon to learn a routine based on the theme 'Clocks.' Led by the secondary students, the primary students were split into groups and given different segments of a ten minute routine to learn before coming together to perform the routine for invited parents in the afternoon. Vikki Chapman, dance teacher at Oasis Academy, said: "The workshop was a great success due to the overwhelming dedication from all of the students involved. All students did extremely well and worked very hard all day to produce a wonderful piece of dance." David Millar, Principal, Oasis Academy said: "As part of the Coulsdon Cluster group of primary and secondary schools, we were delighted to host this event. It is great to be able to work with other schools in the local area to provide extended opportunities for students and we are looking forward to taking part in many more events next year." |
