Whyteleafe Events Committee raises thousands for Help for Heroes
Published: Friday, 28 December 2012 06:34

On Monday 17th December the Whyteleafe Events Committee celebrated Christmas at Costa del Sol Spanish restaurant in Whyteleafe.

The Committee was also celebrating raising a total of £5,276.50 for Help for Heroes from the proceeds of the Fun Day held in Whyteleafe Recreation Ground on Sunday 16th September.

Tandridge District Councillor and Whyteleafe Village Councillor Tom Dempsey said: "The Fun Day was a marvellous achievement for the Events Committee and I hope there will be many more events in the New Year. When times are tough the people of Whyteleafe have still come out and given a resounding 'yes' to the Armed Forces. Thank you very much to everyone who helped make the Fun Day such a fantastic success."
