With a record entry nearly four hundred Easter eggs were given away at Queens Park in Caterham-on-the-Hill on Sunday 28th March, one each to every finisher in the Easter Bunny 1K Fun Run and 5K Race organized by The Rotary Club of Caterham. The races were started by the Vice Chair of Tandridge District Council, Councillor Alan Jones, who also presented the prizes assisted by the Rotary Club President, Jim Burton. The fastest runners in the 5k were Jack Arnold in 18 minutes 6 seconds with Richard Williams in second place. The first lady home, in 5th place was Helen Wilson in 20 minutes 1 second, a new ladies course record. The prizes for the Best Dressed Bunnies went to Isobel Cronin, Ella Thomas, Millie Padmore and Charlotte Roberts. All the winners received beautiful hand-made chocolate eggs kindly donated by local master chocolatier, Tim Fisher of Indulgence Confectionery.
The proceeds from this year's event will be donated to St Catherine's Hospice and Rotary Charities.
