Peter Pan Panto stars Jennifer Ellison (Dancing on Ice) – Peter Pan, Ace Bhatti (Eastenders evil Dr Yusef Khan) – Captain Hook, Balamory's PC Plum Andrew Agnew and CBBC presenter Gemma Hunt as Tinker Bell took time out from their busy New Year show schedule to support Marie Curie Cancer Care's appeal for volunteers. The stars, who are performing in the pantomime at The Churchill, Bromley were joined by fellow cast members to support the charities New Year appeal. The cast took part in the charity photo shoot to encourage people to make their New Year's resolutions early this year by turning free time into free nursing care and volunteering for Marie Curie's flagship fundraising campaign, the Great Daffodil Appeal. Christmas and the New Year is the busiest time of year for the charity, which provides free nursing care to people with a terminal illness in their own homes. Area Fundraising Manager, Ros Hooper said: " I would urge everyone to give up some of their spare time and support this very worthy cause." Volunteer Karen Green has experienced the support of Marie Curie Cancer Care when her mother was cared for by the Marie Curie Care Nursing Service. " I have experienced the work of Marie Curie Nurses first hand and cannot commend the wonderful work the nurses do enough. I hope that everyone gets behind the Great Daffodil Appeal and helps out in whatever way they can. You really can make a difference by making a commitment to the charity. Every £20 raised will provide an hour of nursing care." Marie Curie's services are completely free of charge to patients and their families but the charity needs to fundraise as much as possible to ensure that they can continue to deliver these services. Although the appeal takes place in March, Marie Curie needs volunteers to give up their time now in order to make the appeal a success, so sign up today. Marie Curie has got a role for everyone from Local Appeal Coordinators who will work with the local Marie Curie community fundraising team to plan the local appeal, to Collection Organisers who will help arrange local street collections and recruit volunteer collectors. So whether you've got two hours or two days a week to spare, volunteer today. If you have any time to donate to Marie Curie's Great Daffodil Appeal, you can join your local team of volunteers by calling Marie Curie Cancer Care Surrey and Berkshire Fundraising office on 01883 832648 To access a Marie Curie Nurse, speak to your GP or district nurse.
