Crystal Palace FC Goalkeepers, Lewis Price and David Gregory, will be busy ringing up purchases, talking to customers and sorting through donations at the Marie Curie Cancer Care Shop in Church Walk, Caterham next Thursday 21st February. The Eagles goalies are lending their support to the charity to try and encourage local people to donate just a few hours of their time each week by volunteering at the shop. So get along to the shop at 3.15 p.m. and meet the local sporting legends who will also be signing autographs. Pauline Percival, Marie Curie Cancer Care's Caterham Shop Manager, said: "It's great that our local players, Lewis and David, are here today to volunteer with us. We want to ask the people of Surrey to do the same and spare just four hours a week to support the Marie Curie shop in Caterham. "We urgently need more volunteers to join our dedicated shop team and help the charity raise funds so that more people with terminal cancer and other illnesses can have the choice to spend their final days at home surrounded by the people and things that matter to them most." The Marie Curie Cancer Care Shop in Caterham stocks a wide range of high quality donated goods at great value prices with something to suit everyone. Donations of clothing, books and bric-a-brac are always welcome. Marie Curie Cancer Care provides free home nursing care for people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. There are currently 16 Marie Curie Nurses working across Surrey, making it possible for hundreds of terminally ill people to live their last days at home, surrounded and supported by their loved ones. For more information on volunteering or for an application form, drop by the shop or call the Marie Curie Cancer Care Shop Manager, Pauline Percival, on 01883 345335. |
