Age is no barrier to great photography as this certificate-winning photo by Eve, one of our Junior Members, shows. Of course it helps greatly if, like Eve, you can recognise when you are 'in the right place at the right time' and then have the skill to compose the image. See how the 'birds in the hand' are perfectly sharp while the background is slightly out of focus so that it doesn't act as a distraction. Eve explains: "I took this photo in Paris whilst on a school trip. A crowd had gathered in a courtyard and we all wanted to see what was happening. We were amazed to see these tiny birds feeding from a lady's hand. It was such a lovely sight, I just had to take the photo." We are a friendly club for all abilities and meet each Tuesday evening (7.45pm for 8pm) in Cameron Hall, Canons Hill, Old Coulsdon. Visitors £2 (refunded on joining). Why not come along? March events: 5th Set subject competition on the theme of Water. 12th 'Urban Exploration to Fine Art' - an illustrated talk by Viveca Koh. 19th Digital projected image competition (round 3 of 3). 26th Outings competition - images from club outings.
